<gchristensen> BIOS Is Over! Bye~
<gchristensen> fun
<gchristensen> FYI
<gchristensen> arch64.nixos.community will point to the new builder in the AM, the SSH key is unchanged.
<samueldr> system76 (see the comments for a 22 minutes video I haven't watched since it seems hardly related, but full of conjecture) may be doing an ARM computer https://www.reddit.com/r/linux/comments/9jbzhi/system76_is_releasing_a_new_opensource_computer/
<gchristensen> also I'm destroying the old server now
<gchristensen> in order to be abl eto add it to Hydra in the morning
<samueldr> :)
<samueldr> progress is always interesting
<gchristensen> oh?
<samueldr> well, more aarch64 hydra builders is progress. right?
<gchristensen> OH! yes! :)
<samueldr> tell me about it :) it is!
<gchristensen> ok, time for bed.
<gchristensen> see y'all
<gchristensen> ps the new IP is 147.75.77.190 if y'all can't wait.

<sphalerit> gchristensen: what do you mean by "BIOS is over!"
<sphalerit> ?

<sphalerite> gchristensen: "the SSH key is unchanged." doesn't seem to be the case

<sphalerite> For all interested: two of the panfrost (free mali driver) developers are talking at XDC later today. There's a livestream at https://xdc2018.x.org/
<sphalerite> later today = in just under 2 hours
<sphalerite> 3*

<gchristensen> that is what the new server prints at the end of the BIOS process
<gchristensen> sphalerite: the SSH key is definitely not changed:
<gchristensen> aarch64.nixos.community ssh-ed25519 AAAAC3NzaC1lZDI1NTE5AAAAIMUTz5i9u5H2FHNAmZJyoJfIGyUm/HfGhfwnc142L3ds

<gchristensen> you might be prompted again, but it shouldn't have changed

<gchristensen> sphalerite: can you confirm that is true when you can? b/c it should be, and I want it to be true :P
<gchristensen> ah yeah so the domain doesn't point to the new one yet
<sphalerite> oooh right
<gchristensen> the old IP has now been reused
<sphalerite> makes sense
<sphalerite> :D
<sphalerite> does the right-hand graph not start at 0?
<gchristensen> no, it doesn't... it is a bit annoying, but it is just there to give you an idea of direction of change
<gchristensen> it starts at an arbitrary number
<gchristensen> (it happened to be starting at 48 there)
<gchristensen> ...ish
<sphalerite> like that graph with the taxes shown on fox news at one point, lol
<gchristensen> hha
<sphalerite> such graph, many data
<sphalerite> wow
<sphalerite> also, I'm really happy with the aarch64 chromebook. The binary cache makes a world of difference
<sphalerite> plus its performance seems to be better in general
<gchristensen> nice!
<sphalerite> I now almost only use my big laptop for email (because I want to switch to a different mail client rather than setting thunderbird up on here, and haven't got around to that yet)
<sphalerite> someone here bought a renegade elite recently right? samueldr?
<gchristensen> sphalerite: should I just add armv7l-linux to the extra-platforms, and update the configuration instructions?
<samueldr> sphalerite: right, I did
<sphalerit> samueldr: the person who runs libre computer was offering free boards in #panfrost, I mentioned that someone recently ordered one for nixos-related purposes and they asked me to ask you to ping them the order number, maybe a discount or something
<sphalerit> If you want :p
<samueldr> ooo
<samueldr> sphalerite: you can pm me details

<samueldr> sphalerite: sorry to bother again, :) ^
<samueldr> oh, it's sphalerit, not sphalerite :/
<samueldr> (I truncate names visually in my client)
<sphalerite> samueldr: no worries, I get highlights for both anyway. Was just afk :)
<samueldr> .ah

<flokli> I'm currently investigating building "portable binaries"… This would allow sharing binaries to systems without a nix-store, or having the nix-store at other locations… Turns out, you could use $ORIGIN/../nix/store/…/lib/… in rpath, but the interpreter itself doesn't support expanding $ORIGIN obviously (paths relative to cwd work, though)…
<flokli> any idea about how to splice that linker inside the binary, but keep the dynamic library loading path?
<flokli> s/path?/part?/

<sphalerite> ooh, the new builder has dezgeg's cache preconfigured? neat!
<samueldr> ooh
<gchristensen> mine?
<gchristensen> shouldn't?
<samueldr> doesn't
<samueldr> (checked /etc/nix/nix.conf)
<sphalerite> what, then why did it query it o.O
<sphalerite> oh maybe it was the bootstrap tools
