<gchristensen> aminechikhaoui: question for you :)
<gchristensen> I'm adding `nixops deploy --test` support, which is just like `nixos-rebuild test`. importantly, it never updates /nix/var/nix/profiles/system to point to the new configuration. buuut... https://github.com/NixOS/nixops/blob/master/nixops/backends/__init__.py#L414-L415 and now I've answered my own question, thanks!
<adisbladis> aminechikhaoui is now a rubber duck
<aminechikhaoui> Lol
<gchristensen> aminechikhaoui: https://github.com/NixOS/nixops/pull/1243 :)
<{^_^}> nixops#1243 (by grahamc, 10 seconds ago, open): `nixops deploy --test`
<aminechikhaoui> look at those nice type checks :D
<gchristensen> so many beautiful types
<aminechikhaoui> what does nixos-rebuild test do ?
* aminechikhaoui should rtfm
<gchristensen> it activates but doesn't update the bootloader
<gchristensen> so if you reboot, it won't boot to what you just broke your system with
<aminechikhaoui> ah pretty nice
<gchristensen> WTF this is so cool https://github.com/NixOS/nixops/pull/1048
<{^_^}> nixops#1048 (by tomberek, 1 year ago, merged): init: arbitrary output resources

<gchristensen> nixops should probably have a qemu backend
<gchristensen> oh it does lol
<gchristensen> oh but not in the way I was hoping. I was hoping for one we could use inside a nix-build sandboi

<DigitalKiwi> perl version? :o
<gchristensen> yeah, nixops was originally written in Perl
<gchristensen> and then rewritten in Python, which some people considered a mistake (but I think are probably feeling less like that now that it has types)

<DigitalKiwi> do you know why in nixops-aws route53 is at the same level as the ec2 one but all of the other parts of it are below
<gchristensen> hrm no I don't, that is weird
<DigitalKiwi> just to be clear where i mean
<DigitalKiwi> what is route53 anyway
