<nwspk> zimbatm: I don't think one should compare London's costs with Brno's. Furthermore London's expenes were a stopper for some people - myself included
<nwspk> so perhaps, one should not plan with such expenses - if it is possible. however, thank you very much for your effort
<martyet-o> nwspk well, we are trying to get these expenses as much as possible down :)
<nwspk> martyet-o: thanks (: I just wanted to add that some people won't be paid by their employer to go to conferences or are students or the like (:
<martyet-o> nwspk thats why we are trying to get these expenses down as much as possible.. :)
<flokli> martyet-o: zimbatm: any ideas for the logo? I did some quick research, no building really suitable for a logo… (like big ben)
<flokli> maybe brno dragon? https://www.atlasobscura.com/places/brno-dragon :-)
<zimbatm> nwspk: I think there was a misunderstanding, the comparison here is as an upper-bound, Brno should be cheaper than London :)
<zimbatm> flokli: yeah good idea, now we just need to find some vector graphics for it
<zimbatm> or maybe we could have a generic NixCon logo so it doesn't have to be re-done every year
<flokli> or that. even though I kinda like having per-location variations ;-)
<flokli> martyet-o: could you reach out to the local tourism office, asking for some flyers / graphics and permission to use it on tshirts and swag? I'd assume they have that kind of stuff
<zimbatm> does anyone know of a free email ticketing system?
<zimbatm> last year we used google groups and it was really bad
<zimbatm> it's to support inbound emails to orgateam@nixcon.org
<martyet-o> flokli nice idea! I was trying to get something.. thinking too about buildings - but unsuccessfuly :)
<martyet-o> brno dragon is awesome anyway!
<flokli> zimbatm: there's zammad, we use it in our hackerspace. But it's self-hosted, and there's no nixos module yet ;-)
<martyet-o> zimbatm what about mailinglist?
<flokli> martyet-o: it's more about seeing what others replied (while not cc-ing the distribution list again), and who's "owning" a ticket, in terms of not two persons writing an email at the same time
<martyet-o> flokli yeah, i mean mailinglist for emergency, if nothing else..
<martyet-o> but im looking on that zammad, doesnt looks bad!

<zimbatm> one difference with mailing lists is that you want threads to have a status attach to them to keep track of what needs to be done
<zimbatm> also non-subscribers need to receive emails to their own thread without having to subscribe to the whole mailing list
<zimbatm> thanks for the zammad reference flokli. maybe I can host zammad on my k8s cluster, I will have a look
<zimbatm> looks like it depends on elasticsearch, memcached and postgresql: https://github.com/zammad/zammad-docker-compose/blob/master/docker-compose.yml
<flokli> yeah, ES is needed for the search functionality
