<abathur>
most of you are probably subscribed or mentioned anyways, but I've opened a new PR, nix#4289, to take over the macOS installer work from nix#4181
<domenkozar[m]>
abathur: what timeframe did you have in mind?
<abathur>
not sure about a strict timeline; I don't mind stalling a little to give it some exercise if it is impending, but I also want to avoid an extended wait if it's likely to sit for a while before someone picks it up or if the work itself is likely to take a while
<domenkozar[m]>
I can prioritize it
<domenkozar[m]>
let's say a week?
<abathur>
there's also the promise of some follow-on work towards an uninstaller behind this (though I am really hoping to lay down enough work--most of it here--that I can get some others to help out with that; it's already eaten a couple more weeks than I hoped :)
<abathur>
it wouldn't shock me if this isn't buttoned up yet in a week, so that would probably work
<abathur>
it's really pretty close as far as I'm concerned (I'm just picking at some marginal improvements on it at this point), but I assume it'll get at least some feedback that'll take a little cycle time

<stephank>
ooh, actually got a decent amount of the swift derivation working
<stephank>
Feels like the swift derivation builds a whole lot of llvm / clang as part of it. I don't know much about compiler toolchains, and can only guess it's necessary, but feels super wasteful.
