<hyperfekt> rycee: Nice! That last sentence felt like it was adressed to me because I was sitting at home with a cold instead of attending :b

<hpfr> my home-manager service won't start, it gives "stty: 'standard input:' Inappropriate ioctl for device"
<hpfr> i'm not sure if this problem is a consequence of that, but I have home-manager.users.<user> = { config, pkgs, ... }: { programs.bash.sessionVariables } defined in two places, a base configuration file and one specific to my hiDPI laptop. The hiDPI laptop has some extra environment vars for hiDPI, and they've somehow made their way into my desktop's .profile, even though my desktop's configuration doesn't import my laptop's. is it
<hpfr> somehow because of the service issue?

<rycee> hpfr: Hmm, if the session variables from another file got into your configuration then the must have been imported into your configuration, do you have any `imports` attributes in your configuration?
<rycee> Does the home-manager service log anything else? Do you get this error when you start the service manually?
<rycee> hyperfekt: Ah, that's a pity. Hope the cold gets better soon!

<hpfr> rycee: the systemctl status output is there ^. starting it manually results in the same error
<hpfr> I do have imports set up, but my desktop doesn't import my laptop so it should work. it HAS been working for months, no idea what could have happened

<rycee> hpfr: Odd. Do you know which commit of HM you're using so that I can look through the changes since then for anything that would alter the session variable behavior?
