Greetings - it occurs to me this may be a better place to ask
<__red__>
I need to set up a wiki for a project. Any recommendations for the more minimal-fuss wiki implementtaion to run on a nixos webserver?
<__red__>
I was looking for something I could just add to my nixos configuration declaratively, but I don't see anything that matches.

<samueldr>
:/ the nixos wiki is installed (IIRC and AFAIK) statefully and not declaratively
<samueldr>
and mediawiki is kinda painful to manage generally, so it may not be "minimal-fuss"
<samueldr>
(but while it's a pain, it's highly powerful)

<__red__>
are there any docs for mediawiki that you know of?
<__red__>
I see the package, but I don't really see any guidence as to which options should be used etc...
<__red__>
and that nixos' wiki is installed statefully is good information to know - let's me know that if I need to 'cheat' I won't be the only one :-)
<samueldr>
there's / was support for some php applications installed declaratively with apache in nixos
<samueldr>
check the nixos/tests about wordpress
<samueldr>
you can probably infer how to use mediawiki from there
<samueldr>
but I'm not sure how good the experience is
<samueldr>
and if you don't want to use apache, then it won't work
<__red__>
Gotcha
<__red__>
I might look at foswiki - looks a little more plug and play but a few revs out of date
<__red__>
may be easier to bring that to current and configure

<__red__>
so - what I said about foswiki? maybe not
<__red__>
stuff like this makes me nervous:
<__red__>
collision between `/nix/store/n8ya8cl5ws97pprrxy1clfi4kxxhpvgc-shadow-4.6/bin/login' and `/nix/store/xvc2wi7vyw9r21kv3ar05bw8cz4m7l7h-perl5.28.0-foswiki-2.1.0/bin/login'
<makefu>
as long as nix chooses "the right" login it is probably okay :D
<__red__>
hah
<__red__>
Well - the version in nixpkgs has a security issue too
<__red__>
so getting that working, then updating...
<__red__>
not a bad thing for me to do for the community once I get something else up
<__red__>
I'm kinda slammed for time right now :-/
