I'm working on backporting glibc - mentioning it in the hope that if someone else is already doing it I can run away screaming in fear :-)
<red[evilred]>
if we backport a patch do we add a suffix to the version?
<red[evilred]>
or just let it be?
<red[evilred]>
Just applied my first upstream security patch - not sure how to stop the vuln process from tagging it again...

<red[evilred]>
in other news
<red[evilred]>
I found a package
<red[evilred]>
it's "special"
<red[evilred]>
apparently it pulls a binary out of a deb archive
<red[evilred]>
tries to symlink some stuff to systemd's copy of libudev
<red[evilred]>
and ldd shows 106 libraries that it's linked against
<red[evilred]>
of which 17 are not found
<red[evilred]>
so I guess I need to find all of those
<red[evilred]>
wonder why systemd is special
<red[evilred]>
work out of the other 90 something are just working by accident in my environment
