<gchristensen> anyone have opinions on sha256 vs. skein vs. edonr?
<gchristensen> as the checksum function for a zfs pool
<cole-h> probably doesn't make a difference for your usecase, but "FreeBSD does not support the edonr feature." (https://www.freebsd.org/cgi/man.cgi?query=zpool-features)
<gchristensen> okay
<gchristensen> Later implementations were made available sha512, skein and edon-R. At that date the official page circulated some numbers like sha512 being 50% more performant than sha256, skein 80% and edon-R with more than 350% an increase in performance.
