is there a way to use the emacs overlay through home-manager on nixos?

my understanding is that home-manager takes a `pkgs` argument, so you might be able to adjust the nixpkgs that it takes for that argument with the overlay

(this should be pretty straightforward in the flake configuration, but I haven't tried it in any constellation yet)

ah, pretty much: imagine if `niv` was integrated on the whole-system level, all your builds were forced to be hermetic, and it worked with the nix tooling (:
