<gchristensen>
it is a indexed, single-"document" manual combining Nix, Nixpkgs, and NixOS
<gchristensen>
note the index is like 20MB so it might take a bit to fetch

no mega link? :P The amount of nesting in the Nixpkgs manual was already a lot.
<gchristensen>
yup
<gchristensen>
and I fought hard to make it even worse last week, but there is good news on its way
<gchristensen>
the ToC is going to be collapsed with expandable sections
<FRidh>
you want to go towards a single manual, or this is just that, an experiment?
<gchristensen>
I'm not sure
<gchristensen>
what do you think?
<FRidh>
In a way you want to be able to cross-ref, and search easily, but at the same time, they are separate projects or have separate intend.
<gchristensen>
right
<gchristensen>
I wouldn't want to combine the manuals together in code -- what I've done combines them by using ${../nixos/doc/manual/manual.xml} and ${nix.docbook}/manual.xml
<FRidh>
I think nixos/nixpkgs is covering more and more the same

Providing this manual additionally may be convenient for searching info.
<qyliss^work>
I think it would be great for new NixOS users who haven't got the hang of the difference
<gchristensen>
matthewbauer, Ericson2314: y'all up for a quick little project for the static cross compilation targets?
