<manveru>
clever: well, i kinda got it working, except that it's still using IFD
<clever>
manveru: yeah, you need IFD to translate the lock file into a nix expression
<clever>
manveru: but you can manually run that same derivation, and then commit the nix files to a repo
<manveru>
i'm fine with that myself, but it'll face the same issues as yarn2nix that packages made with it won't be in nixpkgs
<manveru>
aye
<clever>
yarn2nix supports running it outside nix
<clever>
and then commiting
<manveru>
already built a nix serializer for it
<manveru>
the problem with yarn2nix is more that it's usually thousands of dependencies that lead to massive PRs :)
<manveru>
anw, that's good enough for this weekend, hopefully i can make a real prototype soon

What's the process for backporting systemd patches?
<arianvp>
Do we do backporting? Or only commits that fix stuff for Nix store related stuff
<arianvp>
Because it's unlikely we'll finish 241 in time, but there are some fixes that I need and would be a shame if I had to wait another 6 months
<arianvp>
There's a small patch that fixes Cgroups v2 support. And I was wondering whether we can backport it to our v239 branch

arianvp: yes, we have our own systemd repo/branches where we can do backports

I think I've asked before, but just in case and for visibility: Did "acquiring/releasing lock: Resource deadlock avoided" become a cause of build failures recently, or was that always the case?
