I wanted to test the home-manager neomutt config on the master branch, since it doesn't exist on 19.09 -- but is there a way to do that without upgrading the <home-manager> channel? the contribution guide gave the impression I could clone and use `-I` to point to the master branch, but it still seems to use the nix-channel installed 19.09 channel

is this possible? should I use nix-channel to add a home-manager-unstable channel and temporarily point to that somehow?

Do you have the `programs.home-manager.path` option set?

Also, the master branch of HM is not compatible with the 19.09 version of Nixpkgs so you would also need to override the nixpkgs channel.

I hadn't set the programs.home-manager.path, I thought the -I option would do the same thing. I can try that...

I could also just wait for 20.03 to be released. all I really wanted to do was see what the neomutt config would look like from home-manager
