nice. just a "potential user" here. can't get my chromebook to do anything but blackscreen even with the supplied kernel, when vbutil_kernel repacked onto a properly prioritized partition for testing and given more pedestrian args like root=somepartition init=/sbin/init and vanilla kernel.org is even worse, the display doesnt even light up in that case, and making a google account is a dealbraeker her for

stallmanistic reasons let alone they think my VOIP number is no good, maybe it's already been used to create accounts before it was recycled for my use and said account still exist, or the entire prefix is just too used for fraud/wahtever who knows .. and the account is needed to use the crostini VM stuff.. and it turns out you CAN use the host wayland socket since you dont have access to virtwl wayland and

the vm due to not having an account (but the cros_sdk build tools do have some localaccount.py script that can create one, so maybe it's actually possible with devmode tweaking , but it'd be nice if the OS was configured right from the start). but i dont think they test sommelier with non-virtwl wayland anymore because there's definitely some pretty weird focus bugs that crop up when switching between tablet

and dekstoip modes or hiding the taskbar etc.. which create kind of catch22 input issues and it's kind of hard to escape from without a lot of fiddling. but when it works it's just fine, you forget youre using chromeOS and in fullscreened i3 or wayland-backend sway so there's that
