<hyper_ch> hi
<hyper_ch> need help on where to add something to the wiki
<hyper_ch> I run currently a test script in a vm that will check if folders created by the installer can be used by zfs mount or if legacy mount is required for a zfs root system. But where to add that information to the wiki?
<hyper_ch> probably create a new site and then add a link to it form here https://nixos.wiki/wiki/NixOS_on_ZFS#How_to_use_ithttps://nixos.wiki/wiki/NixOS_on_ZFS#How_to_use_it
<hyper_ch> ?

<Mic92> hyper_ch: could you post the script I am not sure I am getting the whole scope.
<hyper_ch> Mic92: https://www.sjau.ch/zfs --> first I got all the dirs a normal installation created.. then I checked if I can use them with normal zfs mount... and if not, I used if I can use them with legacy
<hyper_ch> still needs cleaning
<hyper_ch> e.g. I need legacy for /etc but for /etc/nixos I can use normal zfs mount
<Mic92> hyper_ch: this is a install script. Is this the test script you were talking about?
<hyper_ch> this was for quick testing in the vm
<hyper_ch> bu you can see in the middle part where I need legacy mounts and where I can use zfs mount
<hyper_ch> I'll just need to clean that up into a nice presentable form
<hyper_ch> Mic92: it's not useful to have all of those in a seperate ds but /etc/nixos /nix /home /root /var/log and others might be useful
<hyper_ch> what was really strange was /root... I did create it first zfs mount and nixos didn't complain.. but after reboot it just wasn't used an a new /root folder was created
<hyper_ch> and if you use zfs mount on /home you can just easily create new datasets for new users without having to add them to the hardware configuration.nix
