main issue I see is the most infuriating issue with mediawiki: newlines are extremely annoying
<
samueldr>
a single additional newline between the </syntaxhighlight> and the next title adds an empty <p> :(
<
samueldr>
thanks for the contribution :)
<
gchristensen>
pretty frustrating bug :$
<
gchristensen>
should probably actually just fix potr to use the bad pycrypto
<
samueldr>
hmmm, edits are slow for me right now
<
gchristensen>
the whole server was very sloow
<
samueldr>
most pages I clicked too are fast, but eh, caching!
<
samueldr>
fadenb: just in case you want to check if something's wrong, edits (at least) are a bit sluggish
<
gchristensen>
I should clarify
<
gchristensen>
log-in was very slow
<
fadenb>
that happens from time to time, usually caused by github. Or did you use a local account?
<
gchristensen>
it was a github account, but then saving was also slow
<
samueldr>
oh, what I'm saying is that non-cached ops are slow
<
samueldr>
~33s here
<
fadenb>
hmm, seems like vultr dns server has some issues. replaced it for now with another one
<
samueldr>
ah, it would do dns lookups for IPs editing, is that so?

~33s is timeout during resolution until another Nameserver is used
<
samueldr>
♥ thanks for looking into it
<
fadenb>
apparently, was not aware of that up just until now :p
<
fadenb>
btw 1.1.1.1 has 1ms got resolution of github.com. 8.8.8.8 takes 70ms
<
samueldr>
interesting
<
fadenb>
and vultr dns only responds ~1/5 requests :/
<
fadenb>
Another thing to monitor :p
<
gchristensen>
kresd ftw :)
<
fadenb>
yeah, need to overhaul wiki setup. Just do not have the time right now.
<
fadenb>
current plan for this is after 2018-08-16
<
gchristensen>
I know that feeling
<
samueldr>
fadenb: I had a go at trying to get a wiki setup entirely contained through nix configs
<
fadenb>
Have to get it done before nixcon to avoid questions ;)
<
samueldr>
(I mean, a second one, what time using nginx)
<
samueldr>
this time*
* samueldr
wonders where that setup is now gone
<
fadenb>
samueldr: is it online somewhere?
<
samueldr>
found it
<
samueldr>
IIRC I tried to make it act like the conf you shared
<
samueldr>
though I had issues with I think two plugins
<
samueldr>
(I worked on it only two days until I could test things locally with the layout)
<
fadenb>
thx, bookmarked, will take a look at it
<
samueldr>
it would be nice if it's made easy to run a local instance configured approximately the same way
<
samueldr>
especially to help with configuration / updating plugins
