<cransom> hrm. my br0 refuses to pick up an ipv4 address from dhcp on 20.03
<cransom> v6, no problem.
<gchristensen> ipv4 is deprecated ;)
<andi-> good thinking, nixos.org is also deprecated? ;)
<gchristensen> :shipit:
<cransom> this is supposed to be where i set up my nat64 now then, right?
<gchristensen> yup
<cransom> while trying to fix it without a v4 ip, nixos-rebuild worked except for failed attempts to pull the nur repo tarball from github.
<flokli> gchristensen: how do I need to bribe you to get a AAAA record to nixos.org?
<gchristensen> does aws ec2 support it yet?
<gchristensen> nice
<flokli> it might just be a matter of checking a checkbox somewhere
<gchristensen> cool
<cransom> they 'officially' have supported it for far longer, provided that the only thing you wanted was to tie a v6 address to an ELB. but yeah, v6 in vpcs is somewhat 'recent'
<gchristensen> I can take a look :)
<cransom> it is ticking a box. it will auto allocate v6 ranges for you if you aren't particular
<flokli> <3 <3
<gchristensen> I've gotta look in to some other thinsg for the next bit, so remind me or I'll forget lol.
<cransom> if you ahve private subnets though, you'll need another internet gateway
<andi-> gchristensen: while you are at it: status.nixos.org would love some v6 :)
<gchristensen> definitely ping me later lol
<cransom> we need status on ipv6 for nixos.org stat.
<flokli> cransom: file a PR for ipv6.watch
<cransom> i can't in good conscience complain really. it's not exposed at work... but hrm. i just turned on some new staging envs, maybe i'll add v6 and see if the backend complains.
<flokli> :-)

<samueldr> andi-: nixos.org and mobile.nixos.org may/will soon move to netlify, which seem to support IPv6 so that's those two figured out I think

<gchristensen> anyone using NixOps with only machines deployed with `targetHost` (ie: no hetzner / do / aws / packet / etc. plugins)?
<gchristensen> I'd love to get a tester of https://github.com/NixOS/nixops/pull/1227 beyond just amine and me
<{^_^}> nixops#1227 (by grahamc, 6 hours ago, open): Python 2to3, too
<gchristensen> it is possible this will merge super soon, unless I hear from someone

<flokli> gchristensen: sorry, gave up on nixops and use morph by now :-P
<gchristensen> right on
<flokli> ;-)
<gchristensen> well, if anybody is interested in testing this PR to nixops -- let me know.
