samueldr changed the topic of #nixos-infra to: NixOS infrastructure | logs: https://logs.nix.samueldr.com/nixos-infra/
<cole-h> I think eris needs a redeploy for the 20.03-EOL change to go live (https://github.com/NixOS/nixos-org-configurations/pull/136), if anybody can handle that.

<gchristensen> garbas: why private?
<gchristensen> ah I guess a mis-click and I was just really fast :P
<garbas> gchristensen: yes, sorry. I took me some time to find how to turn it public.
<garbas> I'll open a PR to remove status-page from nixos-org-configurations (as a draft) and we can discuss there which steps are needed and in which order
<gchristensen> okay. I'm still skeptical about proxying requests to the backend, but it is probably fine
<gchristensen> anyone looking for a smallish project to take on? https://github.com/grahamc/packet-nix-builder/issues/7
<garbas> I hope we can do it only temporary
<gchristensen> "Manage spot market bids with Terraform"
<gchristensen> it isn't clear to me that using status.nixos.org as its own subdomain makes sense, though, given the subdomain is usually used to put it in a different failure zone from the main page -- but in this case they're in the same failure zone
<gchristensen> which is why I think having it be on nixos.org makes more sense
<gchristensen> https://github.com/grahamc/packet-nix-builder/issues/8 is another issue I'd like help with
<gchristensen> Create a way to merge PRs without rebooting all the machines #8
<niksnut> garbas: I just got a couple of emails from netlify like this:
<niksnut> Builds for your site nixos.org have been stopped by NixOS.org. Netlify will never build your site. You can still build locally via the CLI and then publish new deploys manually.
<niksnut> do you know what's up with that?
<garbas> niksnut: yeah, they changed the ui a bit and there was a new option to click that does not trigger netlify to build our repos (since we can not use it)
<niksnut> oh yeah, we're building from github actions right?
<garbas> niksnut: I didn't know it will send the emails. otherwise I would announce that this emails will arive.
<garbas> yes, from github actions
<niksnut> ok

<nh2[m]> https://search.nixos.org/options?channel=20.09 is ultra slow for me, e.g. a search for "nginx v6" takes >30 seconds
<garbas> nh2[m]: I dont see any slowdown. the "nginx v6" query takes <1s
<nh2[m]> garbas: probably it is cached because I just queried that?
<nh2[m]> now it is fast again. I've had it many times in the last 2 weeks though that it took extremely long
<garbas> nh2[m]: around this time the import of new channels should happen (if there is a channel update). then we have a bit of slowdown for first queries, until cache is populated.
<garbas> nh2[m]: is it happening around the same time?
<garbas> eg. each day around now
<nh2[m]> garbas: not sure, in the past I just grubled about it but didn't write down the times
<garbas> nh2[m]: ok, please do write things down. and ping me directly
