So when I said "booting" last night it turns out I meant it got to the fancy splash screen and stayed there samueldr. I'm not sure what the expected behaviour is and I've not dug further into it but that's where it's at and so far that's way better experience than Postmarket OS gave me! :-)

it is built with the expectation that stage-2 starts a display-manager or something of the sort

this is a bad assumption for the pinephone which can show a console

but an appropriate one for android-based devices without one

soon I'll be adding timeout handling during boot, which will fail the boot if steps don't resolve in a given number of tries or time
