<Aleksejs> Hello, I'm trying to build rpi_ws281x on RPi3 B+ and I'm getting the error "/nix/store/x94blqsqq862bxbmk76izrjnsxacp2hd-binutils-2.30/bin/ld: cannot find -lws2811"
<sphalerite> Aleksejs: where are you getting the package from?
<Aleksejs> sphalerite: I create derivation via python-package-init

<Aleksejs> sphalerite: that tool generates this: http://vpaste.net/aPlId
<sphalerite> Aleksejs: never seen that before… but anyway, that library seems to be a multi-language one, which won't build with only python packaging components
<sphalerite> You'll probably need to package it manually and build it using scons
<Aleksejs> I'm not sure I know how to do that...

<duncan^> I'm trying to install texlive-combined-full-2018,but it segfaults
<duncan^> Some error GC warning repeated allocation of a very large block...
<duncan^> I am content with the minimal distribution, but it would be nice to cofirm if anyone else can reproduce?
<duncan^> (this system is escoteric and custom and I don't want to cause unneccessary work that isn't a bug in Nix)
<duncan^> I verified that I am using the channels are up to date as well as my environment

<samueldr> oh boy, the specific new hardware (screens, sensors) don't work, but it looks like my "fake" android device target for the pine a64-lts already all works on the pinephone devkit
<samueldr> so I can use fastboot to push stuff from my computer to the device
<samueldr> u-boot is such a lovely piece of software
