<xwvvvvwx> Hey :) I use home-manager as a nixos module, quite often when I rebuild, I get errors because a file that is defined by home manager already exists, normally I just manually move the files and rebuild again. Is there a way to tell home-manager to automatically move the files when it's loaded as a nixos module? I see the message about adding -b but I don't know how to configure my system to
<xwvvvvwx> pass that arg to home-manager
<__monty__> xwvvvvwx: Afaik HM should only report that if those files were changed manually, i.e., out of HM's control.
<__monty__> HM's conservative so you don't lose anything.
<__monty__> Maybe you can avoid that?

<xwvvvvwx> that would of course be the *correct* way to do things :)
<xwvvvvwx> but honestly I've taken a quick look and I can't see an obvious reason for them to be changing
<xwvvvvwx> and taking a deeper look is pretty far down my todo list

<MmeQuignon> Hi ! I was wondering if there is a specific way to upgrade when home-manager is installed as a module ?

<ashkitten> MmeQuignon: same way you upgrade all the other channels: nix-channel --update
<ashkitten> if home-manager is using a channel
<MmeQuignon> I don't know, I added the home-manager channel :
<MmeQuignon> nix-channel --list
