<pie_>
is there anything for running a plan 9 vm or something_
<aaronjanse>
I think it's possible, although I haven't done so myself. If you do, please report back on your experience
<ehmry>
it would be nice if inferno was packaged, that is also MIT now
<aaronjanse>
:eyes:
<aaronjanse>
Welp that didn't work
<aaronjanse>
But that indeed would be cool
<ehmry>
I think its needs plan9port to build
<aaronjanse>
Sadly I think the plan9 community is somewhat resistant to porting things. I don't think they even have llvm
* ehmry
starts building inferno
<ehmry>
well inferno is still 32bit, and I don't feel like cross compiling arm on aarch64
<aaronjanse>
Awww, bummer it's 32 bit
<aaronjanse>
I wanted to do something like Plan 9 using Redox. I'm on mobile right now, but I'll try to figure out how to host the document somewhere you can see it
<dvn>
i thought 9front in a vm is the way to go for running plan9 stuff?
<aaronjanse>
Yeah I think 9front is the most actively maintained plan 9
<aaronjanse>
<aaronjanse "I wanted to do something like Pl"> I'm now against my own design because I don't think it adds enough to be worth the complexity

as far as I can tell, thinkpads are the universal reference laptop for doing OS dev
