<roberth> so what's the best way to have nixops 2 with a plugin in a shell for a real-world project?
<roberth> I've used iohk's nixops flake but that's too inconvenient when you're trying to use patches of your own
<roberth> I basically want to point the project at a git version of nixops and a plugin
<roberth> I've read through all the docs but I couldn't find an expression that adds plugins to nixops

<tewfik> and I was able to create a Hydra jobset, then use the evaluated store path to install the new version of nixops

<roberth> oh that seems a bit fragile. If you reference a store path you're not creating a garbage collection root
<roberth> I use hercules ci :)
<roberth> it's kind of my thing
<tewfik> I didn't just realize the store path but I actually installed it via "nix-env"
<roberth> ah ok
<roberth> I'll see if I can base something off of existing expressions
