I’ve just tried to install ihaskell and horribly failed.

Zeromq4-haskell fails during testing. And I can’t get dontCheck to be set on it. No matter how much overlay/overrode magic I try.

I tried `nix-shell -p ihaskell` and got the error: `Failed! Exception: 'ZMQError { errno = 22, source = "setByteStringOpt", message = "Invalid argument" }'`

seems like a library error... perhaps try it with a previous version of ghc (by default it's using 8.4.3 I think)?

I got some other errors the other day too with ghc843, such as: `nix-shell -p "haskellPackages.ghcWithPackages (pkgs: [pkgs.Unique])"` fails because Uniq doesn't support 8.4.3

angerman: I build it as part of my personal package Hydra, and I can only recall a few weeks sometime in early June when it actually built, completely to my surprise.

dhess: I see value with nix for system provisioning. For day-to-day use; I've had *much* less trouble with just using homebrew or other packaging solutions.

dhess: and quite frankly, without the CI infra nixpkgs/nixos has, I think it wouldn't survive.

if someone knows how to actually set `dontCheck` on zeromq4-haskell, I might give this another try. But as long as it just fails badly on tests; I'm kinda suck.
