<samueldr>
shlevy: as you're op right now here, you probably want to register the channel with chanserv, otherwise it will become harder (afaik)
<gchristensen>
since it is within the NixOS Group Registration with Freenode we can always get it later, but indeed -- better get it :)
<shlevy>
Any quick link for how to?
<gchristensen>
well
<gchristensen>
if you +o me I can take care of it
<gchristensen>
or
<samueldr>
gchristensen: hmm, didn't know there was group registrations with freenode, that's neat
<shlevy>
But then how will I learn? :)
<samueldr>
otherwise, /msg chanserv help
<gchristensen>
/msg chanserv register #nix-core and then dig around the help manuals to figure out how to make everyone ops too :)
<samueldr>
though it may be a bit obtuse
<gchristensen>
samueldr: yeah, we have #nix, #nixos, #nixos-*, and #nix-* I think
<gchristensen>
yeah we have #nix-*
__Sander__ has joined #nix-core
<shlevy>
Oops
<aszlig>
hm, probably would make sense to make these channels on an as-needed-basis rather than creating them and being idle afterwards most of the time?
<aszlig>
what's #nix btw.?
<gchristensen>
#nix is an invite-only channel which, if you're not invited, redirects you to #nixos... and nobody is invited.
<sphalerite>
aszlig: an old channel which was set up to redirect to #nixos to avoid confusion
