there's something i like a bout nix, syntax aside, the fact that its super declarative (apparently) and enables super productivity to create packages

FreeBSD used to be supported in Nixpkgs

Something I'm experimenting with right now is trying to get Nixpkgs from 4 years ago running, and then trying to move forward gradually from there
